Almost a week after iOS 11 beta 5 release, Apple releases the iOS 11 beta 6 to registered developers. However, still if you do not have a developer account, you can install and test iOS 11 beta 6 on your iPhone even without the need of computer and iTunes.
According to the release notes, the beta 6 update includes a number of bug fixes and improvements. The most notable changes are the new icons of some stock iOS apps, such as the App Store, Reminders, and Maps app. Additionally, there’s a new zoom-in animation when you unlock your iPhone.
Installing iOS 11 Beta 6 Without a Developer Account
If you’ve already installed iOS 11 earlier beta version on your device then proceed with the following steps:
- Reinstall the iOS Beta Software Profile from here
- Tap on the Download button.
- On the Install Profile screen, tap on Install to install the new profile.
- It will prompt you to restart your iOS device. Tap Restart to continue.
- After you have restarted your iPhone or iPad, you should see the iOS 11 Beta 6 OTA when you navigate to Settings > General > Software Update, and tap on Download and Install button to install iOS 11 beta 6.
Installing iOS 11 beta 6 for the first time:
- On your iOS device, open up this link in Safari, not in any other browser or app.
- Tap download button to load the iOS 11 beta 6 software profile.
- You will be automatically redirected to ‘iOS Beta Software Profile’ from where you will have to tap on Install three times and select the reboot option.
- Once your iPhone or iPad has rebooted, head over to Settings -> General -> Software Update and the iOS 11 developer beta OTA should be available as a download on your device. If the update does not show up, wait for a few minutes and try again. If that still does not work, make sure to restart your iPhone or iPad again.
After the OTA is downloaded, install it like you would install any other iOS update.
